All preparations have been completed by the administration to hold the 4th Uapzila Polls in third phase in Sadar upazila in the district on March 15 in a free, fair and peaceful manner.
The polling will start at 8 am and will continue until 4 pm without any break. A public holiday has been announced in the upazila on the Election Day to enable the voters to exercise their rights to franchise, sources said.
As many as 2,96,046 voters including 1,51,976 female ones would cast their votes in 97 centres with 922 booths in the upazila in the third phase of the uapzila polls like other parts of the country, said acting UNO and assistant returning officer Hafizur Rahman.
A total of 11 candidates for chairmanship, 7 candidates for vice chairman and 4 candidates for female vice chairman are contesting the elections to be held on March 15, 2014.
