Preparations afoot to observe Independence Day in dists

The people of Sylhet are ready to observe the Independence and National Day- 2016 befittingly amid huge enthusiasm and festivity on Saturday next (March 26).
The district administration, Sylhet City Corporation, government departments, Awami League (AL) and its associate organisations, other political parties, socio-cultural and professional bodies, educational institutions and other organisations have completed necessary preparations to observe the day.
The observance will begin through heralding 31 gun salutes at Sylhet Police Lines ground and placing of wreaths at the Central Shaheed Minar, Swadhinota Smriti Stambha `Arjan’ and monuments of martyred freedom fighters at zero hours on the Day.
Divisional Commissioner Jamaluddin Ahmed, DIG Mizanur Rahman, Deputy Commissioner Joynal Abedin and high officials will place wreaths there at the zero hours.
Later, leaders of district and city units of AL, Chhatra League, Jubo League, Sramik League, Jatiya Party, BNP, JASOD, Gano Forum, Ganotantry Party, Swechchasebak League, Workers Party, Bangladesher Samajtantrik Dal, Communist Party of Bangladesh and other political parties, Muktijoddha Sangshad, Sylhet Chamber, District Corruption Prevention Committee and other organisations will place wreaths there.
Dupchanchia (Bogra) Correspondent says: The upazila administration of Dupchanchia under Bogra district has already taken all sorts of necessary steps and tight security measures to observe the Independence and National Day 2016 in a befitting manner.
Concerned officials of the upazila administration, representatives from other public and private organization, local elite and journalists have confirmed Separate sub-committee to make the Independence and National Day programmes a success. They decided to obey the customs of the total independence programmes, 21 gunshots, formal march past, display of different schools students, Police and Ansars as well as friendly foot ball match between Administration and journalist at Dupchanchia Pilot High School play ground, the authority added.
Meanwhile Shapla High School of Dupchanchia uapzila are preparing an extra ordinary display participating students from class five to ten directed by assistant teacher Parvin Akhter of the school. On the Other hand, National Day programmes including reception of the valiant freedom fighters, discussion meeting, debate and essay writing competition will be include in the Day programmes.
BSS from Netrakona reports: Netrakona district administration chalked out different programmes to observe the Independence Day on March 26.
Besides, different socio-cultural and political organizations including district Awami League, Muktizoddha Sangsad and professional groups designed programmes highlighting the significance of the day.
The day’s programme will start with 31 gun salute at district collectorate office premises at 12.01 am.
Floral wreaths will be placed at the independence memorial monument at Satpai in the morning. National flag will be hoisted atop of all private and public buildings throughout the district.
BSS from Narayanganj adds: Preparations are underway to celebrate the 46th Independence and National day on March 26.
Three-day programmes have been chalked out in this regard which would begin on March 24 in a befitting manner.
The Narayanganj district administration here on Sunday in a meeting with the leaders of local Awami league and it’s front organisations, district unit of Bangladesh Muktijoddah Sangshad, heads of educational institutions, Narayanganj Shishu Academy and socio-cultural organisations finalized the programmes.
The programmes include painting and essay writing competitions of children on the war of liberation on March 24.
The day’s programme will be heralded with 31 gun salute at one minute past zero hours on Mach 26.
Besides, the programmes also include placing of floral wreaths at the memorial name plate of the martyrs of liberation war in 1971at Chashara Victory Monument.
National flags will be hoisted on all public and private buildings. A reception will be accorded to the family members of martyred and war-wounded freedom fighters at Narayanganj Club Ltd at noon.Improved diets would be served to the patients in the hospitals and Orphanages.
