National Council Preparation Committee of Awami Swechchhasebok League (ASL), a front organisation of Bangladesh Awami League has completed all-out preparations to hold its National Council on November 16 ( Saturday).
This was disclosed at a press conference at the Central Office of Bangladesh Awami League , Bangabandhu Avenue in the city yesterday on preparation of the National Council to be held on November 16 at the Suhrawardy Udyan.
Committee Convenor Nirmal Ranjan Guho and Member Secretary Gazi Mesbaul Hossain Shachchu addressed the press conference . Convenor of Media Sub-committee Dr Utpal Kumar Sarker was present on the occasion.
They said, the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the council by hoisting national flag as Chief Guest at 11 am and General Secretary of Bangladesh Awami League and Minister for Road Transport and Bridges Obaidul Quader MP and Organising Secretary of Bangladesh Awami League as special guests . They said, in the meantime much enthusiasm has been created among the leaders and activists of the organisation ahead of the convention which is going to be held after 13 years .
Some 1975 councilors and 18000 delegates across the country will participate at the Convention .
The presidents whose name are strongly being discussed are: Nirmal Ranjan Guho presently Senior Vice President, Vice President Dr Utpal Kumar Sarker , Moinuddinin Moin, Vice President and as General Secretary Gazi Mesbaul Hossain Shachchu , Joint Secretary of the organisation and Member Secretary of National Council Preparation Committee and presently Office -Secretary of the organisation Saleh Mohammad Tutul . Tutul was leader of Bangladesh Chhatra League , Dhaka University Unit and two-term Office -Secretary of the organisation.
Among them, Nirmal Ranjan Guho played active role in 1/11 period and now he is a Senior Vice President, Gazi Mesbaul Hossain Shachchu was Vice -president of central committee of Bangladesh Chhatra League for two terms and he was injured seriously in August 21 bomb blast .
AFM Bahauddin Nasim, the founder president of the organisation while talking to this correspondent said, young , dedicated , educated and those who have clean image will come in the new leadership.
