Almost all preparations to hold the main congregation of Eid-ul-Fitr at the Shahi Eidgah in the Sylhet have been completed, claimed officials of Sylhet City Corporation (SCC). Eid-ul-Fitr, the biggest religious festival of Muslims, will be celebrated across the country on Tuesday or Wednesday. To make the Shahi Eidgah fully fit for the Eid congregation, some 120 people had been working relentlessly round the clock for the last few weeks.
The SCC officials said noting but a storm-like disaster could only impede saying Eid prayers at the Eidgah.
The SCC officials added. ‘We have completed nearly all the work to make the Shahi Eidgah ready for Eid congregation.
Necessary arrangements including waterproof sheds, fans, toilets and ablution facilities have been made at the Eidgah, he added. The Eidgah covers an area of about 2.25 lakh square feet, several thousand devotees, including the president, ministers, judges, lawmakers and diplomats will offer their prayers. An arrangement has also been kept for women to pray at one side of the Eidgah, with a separate entrance. The main Eid-ul-Fitr congregation of the Sylhet will be held at the Shahi Eidgah at 8:30am.
BSS from Gaibandha reports: District and upazila administrations and law enforcing agencies have taken up adequate measures for holding the congregations of the holy Eid-ul-Fitr across the district.
Office sources said the main Eid congregation would be held at Central Eidgah Maidan, adjacent to Shah Abdul Hamid Stadium of the town, at 9 am at the initiative of district administration.
The other important Eid jamaat would be held at Gaibandha Police Lines ground at 8.00 am on the day where superintendent of police (SP) M. Mofazzel Hossain and additional SP M. Mosarrof Hossain including other police officials of the district would take part.
Besides, jamaats would be held at Bara Masjid Jame Mosque, Gausul Azam Eidgah maidan, Al-Falah Jame Mosque, Khankasharif Jame Mosque, DC -Court Jame Mosque, Circuit House Madrasha Mosque, Dhanghara Eidgah Maidan, Palashpara Jame Mosque, Modern Eidgah maidan, David companypara Jame Mosque, V-AID Road Jame Mosque, Gorosthanpara Jame Mosque and Station Road Jame Mosque of the town.
After the prayers, special munajats would be offered seeking divine blessing and eternal peace of the departed souls, continued peace, progress and prosperity of the country, its people and Muslim Ummah in all the Eid congregations in the district.
Gaibandha Municipality has already set up many arches at the entrance points of the town inscribing ‘Eid Mubarak’ and ‘Allahu Akbar’.
BSS from Rajshahi adds: Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC), district administration and all others concerned have chalked out elaborate programmes to celebrate the holy Eid-ul-Fitr, the largest religious festival for the Muslims, in the city with due fervor, joy and enthusiasm.
The main Eid jamaat will be held on Shahmukhdum Central Eidgah Moidan at 8 am and Muhtamim of Jameya Islamia Shahmukhdum Maulana Shahadat Ali will conduct the prayer.
The second largest one will be held at Shaheb Bazar Zero point at 8.15 am.
Some other main Eid jamaats will be held at Tikapara Eidgah Moidan, Rajshahi Court Eidgah, Rajshahi Stadium, Shalbagan Eidgah, Rajshahi University, New Market Jame Mosque, Police Line Math, Upashahar Eidgah Moidan and Rajarhata Jame Mosque.
Over 150 Eid-ul-Fitr jamaats are scheduled to be held at the traditional and temporary venues in the Rajshahi metropolis under the supervision of the respective Eid jamaat committee.
To make the city’s Eid congregations successful, Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) is facilitating necessary decoration arrangement to around 70 Eid jamaats.
The RCC, local administration and some of the Eid jamaat committee sources said preparations are almost complete under the auspices of all the authorities concerned.
Besides, the city corporation will decorate all the main city roads and
islands with national flags and banners inscribed with “Eid-Mubarak” in
Bangla and Arabic.
Marking the celebration, special diets will be served to the inmates of
different hospitals, jails and Government Shishu Sadan.
Meanwhile, a three-tier security arrangement has been adopted for the Rajshahi city and its adjacent areas for peaceful celebration of the Eid-ul-Fitr.
According to sources of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) and district
police, the additional security measures will be in place a day ahead of Eid
and continue for next three days.
Besides deployment of additional forces, detective vigilance was intensified at all the shopping malls and busiest market points.
All the entry points of the city like Katakhali, Naodapara and Kasiadanga were brought under tight security measures. Necessary instruction was also given to find suspicious persons at any points during the celebration.
Similar reports of adopting elaborate programmes to celebrate the Eid received here from the districts of Chapainawabganj, Naogaon, Natore, Pabna, Sirajganj, Bogra and Joypurhat districts in Rajshahi division.
