The district election office has taken all out preparations to hold the fourth phase election of 12 union parisads in Narail sadar and Kalia upazilas of the district, scheduled to be held on May 7. District election office sources said under the preparations, a total of 109 presiding officers, 440 assistant presiding officers and 880 polling officers have been appointed by the retuning officer concerned.
District election officer Sheikh Anwar Hossen told BSS that preparations are afoot to take fool-proof security arrangement around the Bhaddrabila, Bashgram, Shaikhati, Kalora, Bichali and Shingasholpur unions in sadar upazila and Pahardanga, Baoisona, Joynagar, Khashial, Kalabaria and Mauli unions in Kalia upazila for ensuring security of the voters and holding the polls fairly and peacefully, the officer said.
