The Green Delta Insurance Premier Division Hockey League begins tomorrow at the Maulana Bhashani National Hockey Stadium.
A total of 12 teams have completed their players’ transfer window. But Usha Krira Chakra, the powerhouse of Premier Division Hockey League have not yet taken part in the players’ registration programme. Officials of Bangladesh Hockey Federation have expected that Usha Krira Chakra will take part in the players’ transfer window on Friday.
Bangladesh Hockey Federation will arrange the Premier Division Hockey League under auspices of Green Delta Insurance Company Limited. Premier Division Hockey League is the most prestigious domestic hockey competition.
Dhaka Mariner Youngs Club, Dhaka Abahani Limited, Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited, Dhaka Wanderers Club, Bangladesh Sporting Club, Sonali Bank SRC, Wari Club, Sadharan Bima Krira Sangstha, Ajax Sporting Club, Azad Sporting Club, Police SC, Victoria SC will compete in the hockey meet.
To mark the forthcoming hockey competition, a press conference was held at the conference room in the Maulana Bhashani National Hockey Stadium on Thursday.
Treasurer of BHF and Member Secretary of the League Committee Kazi Mainuzzaman Pila, Joint-Secretary of BHF Mahbubul Ehsan Rana, Executive Vice-President of Green Delta Insurance Company Limited Md Moniruzzaman Khan, AC of Motijheel Police Station Mishu Biswas were present at the conference, among others.
Pila said, ” We hope Usha Krira Chakra will take part in the League. Otherwise, We have to make a new fixture.”
On the other hand, Joint-Secretary of Usha Krira Chakra Shafaet Hossain Dalim said, ” We did not take part in the players’ transfer window but the League Committee has made fixture including our team. We shall not take part in the meet in this season.”
