The Green Delta Insurance Premier Division Hockey League begins today at the Maulana Bhashani National Hockey Stadium.
Dhaka Mariner Youngs Club will take on Bangladesh Police Club in the day’s first match at 2.00pm, while Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited will face Dilkusha Sporting Club in the day’s second match at 4.00pm and Dhaka Abahani Limited will meet Azad Sporting Club in the day’s third match at 6.00pm.
Marking the upcoming hockey competition, a press conference was held at the conference room in the Maulana Bhashani National Hockey Stadium on Monday.
Vice-President of Bangladesh Hockey Federation (BHF) Zaki Ahmed Ripon, Acting General Secretary of BHF Mohammad Yousuf, Secretary of the League Committee Khawja Taher Latif Munna, Treasurer of BHF Md Humayun and Senior Assistant Vice-President of Green Delta Insurance Limited Syed Mahmudul Mudassir were present at the conference.
A total of 12 teams will take part in the Single League basis hockey meet. They are: Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited, Dhaka Abahani Limited, Dhaka Mariner Youngs Club, Sonali Bank Sports & Recreation Club, Ajax Sporting Club, Victoria Sporting Club, Wari Club, Bangladesh Sporting Club, Sadharan Bima Corporation Sporting Club, Police Hockey Club, Azad Sporting Club and Dilkusha Sporting Club will compete in the Premier Division Hockey League, the most prestigious domestic hockey competition of the country.
