The Walton Premier Division Chess League began on Monday at Hall Room of Bangladesh Chess Federation in the city.
FM Iqbal Bin Anwar, head of sports and welfare division of Walton, formally inaugurated the meet as chief guest. In the round robin league basis competition the champions will get Taka 1,00,000.00 while the runners-up and third place finishers will get Taka 60,000.00 and Taka 40,000.00 respectively as cash prize.
The participating teams are Sheikh Russel Memorial Sporting Club, Bangladesh Navy, Fire Service and Civil Defence, Saif Sporting Club, Titas Club, Pritom Prijom Chess Club, Leonine Chess Club, Sultana Kamal Smrity Pathagar, Sonali Bank Krira and Binodon Club and Golden Sporting Club.
