Tension mounted at Khulna Medical College Hospital (KMCH) early Friday following the death of a pregnant woman allegedly due to medical negligence.
Manwara Begum, 32, wife of Faruk Hossain, journalist of local daily Nawapara, was admitted to the hospital for delivery around 6:30am on Thursday. After a checkup, gynecologists at the hospital informed her husband that it would be a normal delivery, sources at the hospital said.
But, they said, Manwara lost her life around 8:20am after she complained of labour pain.
Manwara’s relatives alleged that she died due to medical negligence as doctors failed to conduct C-section in time.
