A pregnant housewife named Sharmin Khatun Shila (32) was hacked to death in Ishwardi’s Dashuria due to previous enmity. The deceased was identified as Shila, wife of Ranaur Rahman, a businessman of Munsidpur area. The incident took place on Tuesday morning. Rana, the victim’s husband, was also injured. The locals arrested the miscreant and handed him over to the police.
The victim was the daughter of late Rahmat Ali of Mashuriyapara in Ishwardi Municipal.
According to local and police sources, Alhaj Habibur Rahman, the father-in-law, went out for morning walk with his mother-in-law after the Fajr prayers on Tuesday (December 21). And housewife Shila was working in the kitchen of the four-storey house. As there were no people in the house, laborer Sumon (35), son of late Azgar Ali Maulvi of the village, entered the kitchen and hacked the her with Ramda and injured her. Housewife Shila ran to save her life and took shelter on the roof of the house and started shouting. The killer Sumon went to the roof and gets angry. The two started fighting when Shila’s husband climbed to the roof from the ground floor to save his wife’s life. At one stage of the scuffle, the killer Sumon fell down from the roof and was injured. Rana was also injured in Sumon’s attack on Ramda. Arrested Sumon is now in police custody at Ishwardi Hospital.
