UNB, Natore :
A 30-year-old pregnant woman was found dead in Bhabanipur village of Natore’s Baraigram upazila on Wednesday night.
The deceased was identified as Shahanur Begum. She was eight months pregnant.
Anwarul Islam, officer-in-charge of Boraigram Police Station, said that all members of the woman’s family went to a musical programme in the village on Wednesday evening, leaving her alone in the house.
When they returned home in the night, they found Shahanur lying in a pool of blood with her throat slit. Police have sent the body to the local hospital morgue for an autopsy.
The woman’s mother-in-law Roshena Begum and brother-in-law Abdur Rashid have been detained for questioning, the OC said.
