Pre-registration of private management Hajj pilgrims for the year 2018 ended on Monday.
“Now, the Hajj pilgrims can be registered under the government management system only. The pre-registration programme will remain open till December 31,” said Anwar Hossain, the Senior Information officer of the Religion Affairs Ministry.
The Senior Information Officer said, there is no more chance of pre- registration for the pilgrims under the private management. He said, “According to the quota, in total 1,27,158 Bangladeshi can perform Hajj in 2018. Among them 10,000 will be under the government management and rest 1,17,158 pilgrims will go under private management system.”
“But so far 1,78,000 pilgrims entered their names in the pre-registration list under private quota till last Monday.
In this situation, the extra registered people will have to wait for the Hajj pilgrims of 2019,” the Senior Information Officer said.
The Hajj may be performed around August 20, next year, according to the Religious Affairs Ministry.
Officials said, the final registrations of the pilgrims may start after signing the deal with Saudi Arabia on January 14 next year.
