A discussion, grave visit and special prayers were held on Thursday afternoon, May 27, in memory of the late leaders of the BNP at various levels of Kapasia Upazila in Gazipur. A large number of leaders of BNP, Juba Dal, Chhatra Dal, Swechchhasebak Dal, Sramik Dal, Krishak Dal, Matsyajibi Dal and other affiliated organizations participated in the prayer program.
Led by the late Hannan Shah, son of Shah Riazul Hannan Riaz, the guardian of the Upazila BNP, Kamal Uddin Ahmed, the late veteran leader of the Upazila BNP in Targaon Union, the founder general secretary of the central parliament of Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal and the late Professor of Jahangir Nagar University Dr. Golam Hossain, former member secretary of Upazila BNP late Mahmudul Hasan Sarwar Sohel, former convener of Upazila Chhatra Dal late Jalilur Rahman Sabuj, former organizing secretary of Upazila Chhatra Dal late Ashraf Ibne Soni, former president of Targaon Union BNP late Saburi Khan visited the graves of their family members and prayed for their souls. Special prayers are offered.
Besides, the soul of all the party leaders and workers including the founding chairman of BNP and the proclamation of independence, martyred President Ziaur Rahman, the member of the BNP Standing Committee, the late Brigadier General (retd) ASM Hannan Shah was prayed for. BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia and Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman were prayed for.
Among others, Gazipur district BNP veteran and former chairman of Kapasia Upazila Parishad Bir Muktijoddha Alhaj Khandaker Azizur Rahman Pera, Upazila BNP president and former chairman of Targaon UP Khalilur Rahman, general secretary Sakhawat Hossain Selim, former upazila BNP president Prof FM Emdadul Hossain, Jamal Uddin Ahmed, former general secretary Tajul Islam, former organizational secretary Adv. Lutfar Rahman, Upazila BNP Joint Secretary Afzal Hossain, Assistant General Secretary FM Kamal Hossain and other leaders were present. The prayers were conducted by Maulana Siddique Hossain, President of Upazila Ulema Dal.
