Pran Roy is a versatile actor of TV drama and films. As a professional actor, he has been engaged with acting for more than two decades. He attracted the viewers’ attention to play the role of Loss in Hafiz Redu scripted and Salauddin Lavlu directed drama Gahargachhi. Basically Hafiz Redu firstly gave him scope to work in this TV drama after watching Pran’s acting on the stage. Later, he came into
discussion to star in Salauddin Lavlu’s popular mega serial Ronger Manush. Basically Pran started acting at drama department of Bagerhat Shilpakala Academy. Then he acted with Rudro Natyadal there. He was founding member of that theatre group.
In Dhaka, he first acted under Azad Abul Kalam’s direction in play Circus Circus under the banner of theatre group, Prachyanat. He acted in several numbers of plays with this theatre group. Then he attached with Desh Natok.
Pran first acted in Shahidul Islam Khokon’s movie Lal Sabuj. Then he also acted in movies Molla Barir Bou, Nodijon, 60 Patla Khan Lane, Ore Sampanwala, Ghetuputro Komola and Maya – The Lost Mother. He has keen intrest to make movie.
Pran said, “As an actor, I want to keep my position in that place where everybody can recall me after my death for my works. Basically I have no interest to make drama. I want to give direction for film. Now I am taking preparation in this regard.”
Now Pran is acting in several numbers of drama serials. Under Salauddin Lavlu’s direction, he first performed as model in a TVC of chocolate. He is anchoring NTV’s popular show 13 No Boarding. Pran is youngest among four siblings. Filmmaker Shahneaoj Cacoly is his wife. March 14 is his birthday.
