PRAN Dairy Limited has awarded 15 farmers to encourage dairy farmers to produce safe milk through proper firm management.
PRAN Dairy has selected 15 farmers on the basis of five criteria including managing dairy firm through proper management, give milk to PRAN Dairy for long-term and turn a small firm into a big one with the help of PRAN Dairy.
State Minister for Fisheries and Livestock Ashraf Ali Khan Khasru handed over the prize at a programme held at PRAN Dairy Complex at Shahzadpur in Sirajganj.
Addressing the programme, Ashraf Ali Khan Khasru said that the use of modern technology is needed to increase milk production.
He also said that the government will take necessary steps so that the dairy farmers can avail loan easily. The state minister thanked PRAN Dairy to organize such program to encourage dairy farmers.
Ahsan Khan Chowdhury, Chairman and CEO of PRAN-RFL Group, said, “Nutrition is needed to build a healthy nation. Milk is the main source of nutrition. Dairy farmers play important role in producing milk. We are feeling proud to honour the dairy farmers.”
He also said that it is PRAN who established the idea of dairy hub conceptin the country. The main aim of PRAN to establish dairy hub was to collect milk from farmers directly to ensure fair price and make the country sufficient in dairy.
PRAN provides assistance to the contract farmers including training to encourage them to rear cows which plays important role to increase production of milk in the country.
PRAN has five hubs located at Chatmohar of Pabna, Gurudaspur of Natore, Shahjadpur and Baghabari of Sirajganj and Rangpur. There are 101 collection and chilling centers under the hubs. Farmers supply milk directly to the collection and chilling centers. PRAN Dairy has 12 thousand contract farmers. They have 50 thousand cows. Most of the farmers have changed their livelihood by dairy farming.
