Sinha killing: Pradeep, 2 others on another 3-day remand

A Cox’s Bazar court on Friday placed former officer-in-charge of Teknaf Police Station Pradeep Kumar Das and two other accused, in a case filed over killing of Major (retd) Sinha Md Rashed Khan, on a fresh three-day remand.
The other accused are: former inspector and in-charge of Baharchhara Police Investigation Centre Liaqat Ali and former
sub-inspector of Teknaf Police Station Nandadulal Raxit.
Judge Tamanna Farah of Senior Judicial Magistrate Court-4 in Cox’s Bazar Sadar upazila passed the order around 4:00pm after the accused were produced before her court on completion of their four-day remand.
The court also rejected bail petitions filed by the accused, defence lawyer Ahsanul Haque Sena told our staff correspondent.
With this, the three top accused were remanded for the third time, our staff correspondent from Cox’s Bazar reports.
Khairul Islam, assistant superintendent of police at Rapid Action Battalion (Rab), told reporters that they submitted a remand prayer for taking the accused on four-day remand each.
But the court allowed Rab to take each of the accused on three-day remand, said Khairul, also investigation officer of the murder case.
