Legendary film actor Prabir Mitra has been staying in the capital’s Segunbagicha area now. He has been passing times there. He has been suffering from knee related complications for last 10 years. He has been also suffering from Osteoporosis. So, he cannot walk comfortably.
To read newspapers and watching television channels, he has been passing his times. He lost his wife Ajonta Mitra in 2000. He still misses his wife. His younger son Akash was died in 2012. Basically he cannot forget them from his memories. While staying at home he always recalls their memories. He feels like to pass exiled life which he does not like.
While talking with him Prabir Mitra told this correspondent, “I only know acting. I want to continue acting rest of my life. But who will give me the scope to acting without moving. My main problem on my knees, rest of part of my body is fit.”
Prabir Mitra got the National Film Award in 1982 for acting in Mohiuddin directed movie Boro Bhalo Lok Chhilo. Later he acted outstandingly in many movies but could not get any state award. He did not get even Ekushey Award.
He said, “Viewers love is an achievement to me. Only for their love I have come into this position. I want to survive with their love and affection.”
As hero, Prabir Mitra acted first movie was last assistant of Zahir Raihan, Sheikh Nazrul and Iltutmish directed Chabuk. Kobori was his heroine in that film. He last acted in SD Rubel directed movie Briddhasrom. Later he did not see to act in any other movie.
