Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Rashed Khan Menon on Friday said, investment in private sector can ensure quick development of the tourism sector with a view to creating an opportunity to earn more revenue. For this, more private sector stakeholders should come forward to contribute the development of country’s economy, said the Minister.

must and more effective for real development of the tourism sector, said the minister while speaking at a pre- budget discussion on ‘Private Biman and Tourism Sector’ in a city hotel. Aviation and Tourism Journalists’ Forum of Bangladesh (ATJFB) organized the discussion.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina declared 2016 as ‘tourism year’ to give more importance on a priority basis for development of the country. In this regard, the government would organise a tourism conference by September this year along with nine countries, said the Minister.
Standing Committee Chairman of Civil Aviation and Tourism Ministry and Former Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Faruk Khan underscored the need for more investment in a bigger way under the public-private partnership (PPP). He suggested for easing the PPP procedure for ensuring foreign investment in the sector.
