A minor boy , while playing with his play- mates on road beside his home, was crushed to death by a speedy power tractor on Monday afternoon at Matlab Dakshin Upazila .
The deceased was identified as Ridoy Patwary, 10, son of Mohammad Ali of Kashempur area under Matlab South Upazila.
Witnesses and Ridoy’s maternal uncle Foysal Patwary told this correspondent that while playing together with his play mates , a speedy power trolley suddenly ran over him causing him seriously injured. At once, the locals rushed Ridoy to the Matlab Health Complex where the on -duty doctor declared him dead. In the midst of hue and cry just after the accident, the trolley driver managed to flee the scene.
Contacted, OC Matlab South Thana AK M S Iqbal told this correspondent , a case was filed in this connection. The vehicle was seized but the driver was still absconding.
