Power supply to every house by 2018, REB Chairman

Brigadier General Moin Uddin, Chairman of Bangladesh Rural Electrification Board (BREB), has said that the electricity will be supplied to every house by 2018.
He said this at a meeting held on the premises of Chardasbespur Union Parishad in Sunagazi upazila in Feni district on Saturday. The meeting was organized on the occasion of giving new power connection to 945 fresh subscribers under the ‘Shuvo Village Electrification Scheme’.
President of Feni Polli Biddyut Samity Abdul Motleb presided over the meeting, while General Manger (GM) of the Feni Polli Biddyut Samity Md Mizanur Rahman, Executive Director of the BREB’s Project Division Ataur Rahman, Director of Human Resource Division Touhidul Islam and Chaimran of Sonagazi Upazila Parishad ZM Kamrul Anam also spoke in the function as the special guests.
The electricity has been supplied to 945 fresh subscribers in nine spots in the upazila, covering 15 kilometers area, through 50 transformers. About two crore taka had been spent in the project.
Brigadier General Moin Uddin said, there is no alternative than suppling electricity
for building digital Bangladesh. The government has taken the plan to bring every home under electricity supply, he said.
“We will continue our service to supply the electricity to every man. We will bring every home under electricity connection,” he said.
