Power ministry introduces DCMS

The power, energy and mineral resources ministry has introduced Digital Complaint Management System (DCMS) aimed at reducing sufferings of the users across the country.
“The ministry has already reorganized its website for receiving complaints and resolving those digitally and providing hassle free services,” State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid told the media here on Monday.
He said the clients would have option for sharing their innovative ideas along with making suggestions through the newly reorganized client friendly website.
“The government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has strengthened client services and undertaken various initiatives to supply electricity to every house across the country,” Nasrul added.
He said his official would monitor the digital complaint management system to respond earliest to customer’s need.
He said his ministry took initiative to include all of its activities into digitization in phases for strengthening Digital Bangladesh programme further.
According to an official familiar with the process, a mobile application and a call centre would be added soon with the digital services of the ministry. The ministry would also take urgent measures to resolve problems as early as possible on the basis of client’s complaints.
Any client can visit the website www.mpemr.gov.bd and submit their complaints and share ideas through e-mail account from any corner of the country.
Besides, the ministry also introduced online payment system. Now-a-days customer can pay their bills through online system, mobile phone or at authorized bill pay centres as part of the Digital Bangladesh programme.
The government is going to implement a number of vital projects to ensure energy security following the growing demand in line with the vision-2021. Currently, 76 percent people of the country, have access to electricity. The government has plan to generate 24,000 MW of electricity by the year 2021 to meet the growing demand for power.
The government achieved a number of successes in the power sector during the past seven years. Power generation capacity reached to 14,500 megawatt.
