Power crisis eased in port city: Power generation resumes in Raozan, Shikalbaha plants

The power generations from Raozan thermal Power Plant and the Shikalbaha Power plant in Chattogram resumes from last two days following the supply of imported LNG from Moheskhali Terminal .
In last two days , these two plants generated 650 megawatt power. Lack of natural gas, these two plants remained shut for long and newly resumes generations from September 10.
Karnaphuli Gas Distribution company sources said Shikalbaha plant on first day generated 225 Megawatts and second day 200 MWs .
 On the other hand, RTPP first day and 2nd day generated 180 MWs and 80 MWs respectively. KGDCL sources said it supplied 300 mmcft gas in Chattogram from Monday .
 An official of RTPP Md. Abdur Rahman told our correspondent that following the present supply quantity, we will be able to operate the second unit also.
Lack of gas pressure primarily , first unit remained shut chief engineer of KGDCL Kayez Ahmed told that the supply network will be increased in phases tofuflill the demands of the industrial sectors.
