Finance Minister AMA Muhith on Saturday said Bangladesh is the world’s unique country where disparity and poverty are declining simultaneously.
“Disparity is widening in all developing countries except Bangladesh. It’s our credit…it’s the success of our strategy,” he said addressing a national dialogue on poverty at Sonargaon Hotel in the city.

(APPG) working on Extreme Poverty and Urban Pavement Dwellers arranged the dialogue titled ‘National Budget 2015-2016: Expectation of the Country’s Hardcore Poor Community and Role of Lawmakers’.
APPGs Commission Chairperson Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury, Deputy Speaker Fazle Rabbi Miah, Dr Dipu Moni, MP, Dr Abdur Razzak, MP, Sagufta Yasmin, MP, Waresat Hussain Belal, MP and Rustom Ali Faraji, MP, among others, spoke at the programme held with APPG President Israfil Alam, MP in the chair.
