Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal on Monday said, the law enforcement agencies are ready to help arrange a peaceful Pourashava election.
The minister said this at a view exchange meeting in the Feni Circuit House on Tuesday.
The Minister has also informed the journalists that the Election
Commission is working independently to hold a free and fair election.
“The government is not giving any direction to the Commission regarding election. The Commission is quite independent,” he said.
Nizam Uddin Hazari, MP, Jahanara Begum Sumi, MP, Humayun Kabir Khondakar, DC and Rezaul Haque, Police Super of Feni District were present at the meeting.
Besides, Administrator of Feni Zila Parishad, Aziz Ahmed Chowdhury, President of Feni Zila Awami League Abdur Rahman B. Com, Chairman of Parshuram Upazila Parishad Kamal Mojumder, Chairman of Fulgazi Upazila Parishad Abdul Alim and Joint Convener of Feni Zila Jubo League Susan Chandra Shil were also present in the programme.
