A post air-crash drill was held at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Thursday.
Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister AKM Shajahan Kamal MP was present as the Chief Guest while secretary of Civil Aviation and Tourism Ministry Md. Mohibul Haque as special guest.
Among others, Chairman of Civil Aviation Authority Air Vice-Marshal M Niam Hasan, Chief Coordinator of drill and member of Civil Aviation Authority (Direction and Planning) Air Commodore M Mustafizur Rahman and the officer of holistic caretaker and Directot of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport group captain Abdullah Al Faruk were present on the occasion.
In the drill, Fire Service of Civil Aviation Authority, Bangladesh Fire Service and Civil Defence, Bangladesh Air Force, Bangladesh Army, Bangladesh Navy, Bangladesh Police, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), Bangladesh Anser and VDP, Bangladesh Biman Ltd. and some airline groups attended.
According to the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO), drill is held once in every two years under compulsion in all the international Airports in order to face post air crash emergencies.
The purpose of the drill is to protect life and properties of the passengers after accident.
