UNB, Dhaka :
River ports in certain regions have been asked to hoist ‘warning signal No 1’ as temporary west or north-westerly squalls are likely to hit the country.
West or north-westerly squalls may blow through places of Barishal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Cumilla and Chattogram with speed of 45-60 km per hour, the Met Office said.
“The river ports there should hoist ‘riverine warning signal No 1’,” it said.
Meanwhile, in its regular forecast, the Met Office said a mild heat wave sweeping over Khulna division and the regions of Dhaka, Faridpur, Rajshahi and Pabna may continue.
There could be a slight rise in temperature during day and night.
The Met Office also forecast rain or thunder showers for parts of Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions.
The weather may remain mainly dry with partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country.
