President of Chittagong City Awami League and Convenor of Bandar Rakkha Parishad ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury has given ultimatum to Chittagong Port and the concerned authorities for one month to scrap all types of deals with Saif Power Tech with Chittagong Port .
He said if these illegal deals are not declared void with Saif power by next one month, tougher movement will be enforced. He als demanded Saif Power as blacklisted operator and declared the operator as persona non-grata in CP.
He disclosed it while addressing the huge public rally at Laldighi Maidan in city on Wednesday evening arranged by the BRP with slogans of Save port , Resist Saif Power. He further told that CP will be saved from the clutches of foreign agent by sacrifice of live .
Mohiuddin C howdhury earmarked the Saif power as agesnt of Pakistan and no such foreign agent should be involved with the national security . he said Saif power is working in CP for the last 8 years violating the procurement policy of the govt and without any competitive tender. He also blamed the CPA Chairman for committing treachery with the nation by engaging a port operator without competitive tender. Mohiuddin chy also warned the CPA chairman for his irregualarities in appointing the port operator like ISI agen t in the port handling. He also blamed CPA chairman for taking bribe of Tk.50 cr against the procurement of 3 vessels. He also requested the concerned authoritites to engage the experienced port handling operator from abroad those are engaged in Singapore, Bangkok, Colombo sea ports earlier through competitive open tender. Among others, JSD Executive President Moinuddin khan Badal MP, City AL general secretary AJM Nasiruddin, JSD presidium member Indunandan Dutta, Advocate Abu Hanif , Advocate Anowarul Islam chy of Ctg Bar Association, Mukhtijudda commander Shahabuddin , Mozaffar Ahmed , Advocate Ali Ahmed of NAP, General secretary of CBA of CP Wahidullah Sarkaer spoke on the occasion. Member secretary of BRP Mahfuzur Rahman presided over it.
