Different trade union bodies and port users forum leaders call on former Mayor of Chittagong and Convenor of Bandar Rakkha Parishad ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury at latter’s residence on Saturday evening and expressed their solidarity towards the movement against the container terminal operator Saif Power Tec of Chittagong Port .
Former Mayor launched the movement against the Saif Power with slogans of Save Port, Resist Saif Power’ .
The port users and beneficiary agencies consists of Berth Operators, Terminal Operators, Ship Handling Operator Owners Association and leaders of Bandar Sramik Karmachari Oikya Parishad.
According to the programs of BRP, the leaders of these organizations will wear black badges from September 1 (today) , hunger strike on sept 7 next infront Bandar Bhaban and public meeting at Laldighi on September 10 next, sources said.
ABM Mohiuddidn Chowdhury chaired the views exchanging meeting with the leaders of the port users and the trade bodies .
Among others Fazle Ikram chowdhury, MA Bakkar, Haji Shah Alam, Rafiqul Anowar Babu, Nurunabi, MA Sharif, President of Bandar Karmachari Parishad Md. Momtazuddin, General Secretary Wahidlullah Sarkar spoke on the occasion.
