Port city still suffering from Eid hangover

The people of the port city are still suffering from Eid hangover though the main celebration passed on Monday.
Most of the business establishments and roadside shops kept their shutters down till today while attendance in different public and private offices was very thin.
Small number of buses and tempos was seen plying on the city streets while rickshaws and three-wheelers dominated the roads.
Most of the garment factories remained closed today.
Meanwhile, the teenagers were seen visiting various amusement spots especially Patenga Sea beach, newly built amusement park on the bank of the Karnaphuli River with joy and enthusiasm.
Abdur Rahim, Public Relation officer of Chittagong City Corporation told BSS that thousands of people, especially children, thronged the city’s parks, historic places and other recreation centers.
Patenga Sea Beach, Foy’s Lake Amusement Park, Chittagong Zoo, Zia Shishu Park, Sea Beach drew huge crowd, he said.
Children, young boys and girls wearing colorful dresses gathered at these places. The newly built amusement park on the bank of Karnaphuli River was decorated with a new look to attract visitors.
Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) has taken tight security measures to ensure security at the amusement parks and places.
