Economists, entrepreneurs and leaders of different political parties on Thursday hailed the just announced proposed budget for the fiscal 2015-2016 terming it as pragmatic, development oriented and based on demands of the situation.
The eminent citizens and political leaders think that there was nothing wrong to set a high target and ‘ambitious’ budget. In an instant reaction to media they, however, stressed on implementation of the proposed budget with utmost efficiency and sincerity.
Some professionals also thanked the finance minister for giving emphasis on social safety nets, environmental management and increased food stock in the budget.
Vice President of Chittagong Chamber of Commerce & Industries (CCCI) Sayed Jamal Uddin Ahmed termed the just announced budget for fiscal 2015-2016 as a business, investment-friendly and highly ambitious one. “There are a lot of new programmes, incorporated in the budget to cope with the present tougher economic situation”, he added. He thanked the finance minister for accepting most of the proposals of CCCI including reduction of the tax on imported raw materials for Bangladeshi industries and stress on human resources development.
