Dhallywood’s popular actress Pori Moni gave birth to a baby boy at the Evercare Hospital in Dhaka on Wednesday evening.
Actor Sariful Razz, Pori’s husband, confirmed the news and said that both the mother and the newborn are healthy. Razz shared the news in a Facebook post on Wednesday.
He wrote: “Congratulations to my dear wife Pori Moni. It’s a baby boy.” Pori Moni posted picture of her baby at 11:00am on social media on Thursday. Pori Moni wrote: “Shaheem Muhammad Rajya,’ you are a conveyor of light for the world.”
Earlier, Pori Moni confirmed her pregnancy in early January of 2022 and announced that she would take a one-year break from acting.
Shamsunnahar Smrity, popularly known by her stage name Pori Moni, entered the film industry with the movie ‘Rana Plaza,’ based on the Rana Plaza disaster. However, the film was denied certification by the Bangladesh Film Censor Board. Her second but first released movie was ‘Bhalobasa Simaheen, on 13 February 2015.
Pori Moni’s mentionable movies include ‘Aro Bhalobasbo Tomay,’ ‘Rokto’ and ‘Swapnojaal.’ She was listed in Forbes Asia’s ‘100 Digital Stars’ magazine in December 2020.
