Actress Pori Moni has is involved with various immoral activities behind the scene. The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the police said it in this regard.
The said investigation agency has mentioned this in their remand application for interrogating Pori Moni in the case filed under the Narcotics Control Act with the Banani Police Station in the city.
The remand application was filed in the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Debabrata Biswas on Wednesday (August 18) by Inspector Kazi Golam Mostafa, the case investigating officer.
Pori Moni’s lawyer Mojibur Rahman said the remand hearing would be held on Thursday (August 19). He said the bail hearing of Pori Moni was scheduled for Wednesday. But in the morning, CID suddenly applied for remand for 5 days. That is why the judge fixed the remand hearing in the presence of Pori Moni on Thursday (August 19).
The CID official also said in the remand application, “Towards the end of the interrogation, the accused gave important information about the case and the main culprits behind the incident.
In the interest of fair investigation and justice, the data provided by Pori Moni is being checked and sorted.
The remand application further said, “If accused is remanded again, it will be possible to arrest the main culprits of drug trafficking and find the culprits with illegal sources of drugs.”

Earlier on August 16, the defence lawyer Mujibur Rahman filed a bail petition and subsequently the court set August 18 for the bail hearing. The new date is Thursday.
On August 4, RAB conducted an operation and arrested Pori Moni from her house at Banani. At that time various brands of drugs were reportedly seized from her house.
After the arrest, she was taken to the RAB headquarters. Later, RAB-1 filed a case against Pori Moni under the Narcotics Act. On August 5, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mamunur Rashid granted a four-day remand in the case.
On August 10, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Debabrata Biswas’s court granted another two-day remand to question Pori Moni.
Earlier, a Dhaka court ordered to send actress Pori Moni to the Kashimpur Jail in Gazipur rejecting her bail petitions. The court has also granted division for the Pori Moni according to the jail rules.
bdnews24.com adds: The bail hearing of actress Shamsunnahar Smriti, popularly known as Pori Moni, has been delayed once more after the CID requested an additional five-day remand to interrogate her over the narcotics case filed at Banani Police Station.
On Wednesday, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Debabrata Biswas, in the presence of the suspect, set Thursday as the date for the remand hearing. As such, the bail petition filed by Pori Moni’s lawyer was not heard by the court. “We did not know about the remand petition,” said Pori Moni’s lawyer Mojibur Rahman. Due to the update to the case, the defence will be seeking a dismissal of the remand petition and requesting bail, he said.
On Aug 16, Mojibur Rahman had petitioned Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Rezaul Karim Chowdhury for bail. The court had set Aug 18 for the hearing.
Around 4 pm on Aug 4, RAB conducted a raid on the house of Pori Moni in Banani. They seized a “significant amount” of imported alcohol and other narcotics from the premises.
Then, on Aug 5, the court granted police four days to interrogate the actress over the case. Another two-day remand was granted on Aug 10. On Aug 13, after the term for the remand ended, the actress was denied bail and sent to jail.
