Chittagong Bureau :Chittagong City Mayor AJM Nasir Uddin said, after completion of the construction of much talked Karnaphuli tunnel, the area of the city will be expanded more and the port city will have more than one crore population. Keeping this idea of population increase and extension of city area, city corporation is taking infrastructure development of the city . He disclosed it while inaugurating the Baitul Aman Jame Mosque at adjoining 14 No. berth of Chittagong Port under city ward No.41 yesterday as chief guest.The mosque was constructed at a cost of Tk.58 lakhs. He said for development of infrastructure of the city, development project for Tk.600 cr has been undertaken recently. He also said the picture of the city will be changed immediate after completion of karnaphuli tunnel. He further disclosed that Chittagong will be turned into a green and environment friendly city by 2016 and all city dwellers asked to extend possible cooperation to the works of the city corporation. Local councilors, women councilor and local elites were present on the occasion.
