Last Thursday the whole day popular film actress Poppy was engaged with dubbing of her last acted movie Sona Bondhu directed by Jahangir Alam Sumon. She took part in dubbing in a studio in the city’s Dilu Road area. Poppy finished her dubbing there. Besides her, director Sumon was also present on the occasion.
Director Sumon informed that he is taking preparation to release the movie in Eid-ul-Azha.
Besides Poppy, DA Tayeb, Pori Moni, Anwara, Jhuna Chowdhury, Mahmudul Islam Mithu, among others, also acted in different roles in the film.
While sharing her feelings about working in upcoming Eid movie Poppy told this correspondent, “Viewers will watch me in a challenging role in Sona Bondhu. I always try to portray my role properly on the screen. In this movie, I had tried my level best effort to make it perfect. It is said that viewers will watch me a new Poppy in this film. I am very much optimistic about the film.”
She also informed that Mahbuba Shahrin wrote story, script and dialogue of Sona Bondhu.
In last Eid, Poppy was seen to work in several plays and telefilms but till now she did not act in any work for Eid-ul-Azha. She yet not finalised the matter.
It is mentioned that Poppy acted last released movie was Nargis Akter’s Poush Mash-er Piriti. In last Eid, Poppy was seen to act in Kaiser Ahmed’s Mental, Sadeque Siddiqui’s Kushumpurer Kushum Koli and BU Shuvo’s Dupur Akash-ey Ekla Chil.
Poppy got the National Film Award for three times. These were for Kalam Kaiser’s Karagar, Nargis Akter’s Megher Koley Rode and Wahiduzzaman Diamond’s Gangajatra. Within very short time Poppy will start shooting of her new movie titled Rajpothey under Javed Mintu’s direction. Zayed Khan is expected to work against her in this film who is present General Secretary of Bangladesh Film Actors’ Association.
