Tense of thousands of people have been severely affected in flood in several districts, including Jamalpur, Kurigram, Gaibandha, Nilphmari, Bogura, Sunamganj and Mymensingh in last few days.
At least 104 deaths were reported in the last 15 days (Jully 10 to 25). Of them, three died in the last 24 hours, said Dr Ayesha Akhter, Assistant Director at Health Emergency Operations Center and Control Room of the Health Directorate.
“Among the victims, 86 drowned in flood water, 8 of snake bites, 7 killed in thunderstorm, one from respiratory infections and two due to other reasons,” she said.
According to the Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC), the floods may worsen in Kurigram, Jamalpur, Gaibandha, Bogra, Sirajganj and Tangail today, while the situation may improve in Nilphamari, Lalmonirhat, Netrokona, Sunamganj, Sylhet, Habiganj and Moulvibazar.
Medium to heavy rainfall may occur in the northern and north-eastern parts of the country, according to FFWC bulletin.
“Floodwater has already started ddecreasing in many districts, which causing an outbreak of skin diseases and diarrhea among the affected people,” added the health directorate official.
Besides, as flood situation continues to worsen in the northern region, relief goods have not yet reached many remote areas.

Flood reliefs reaching those shelter centres are inadequate and most of the people has remained half-fed for long.
Crisis of food and drinking water prevails in other flood-affected areas in the districts as well, while several lakhs people are in waterlogged areas.
About two lakh tube-wells have been damaged by the floodwater, report our district correspondents.
The flood-hit poor people are suffering from huge shortage of food and drinking water for the last couple of days.
Around 40,000 people in the Teesta basin area, who are marooned by flood, are facing a crisis of food and pure drinking water, said a union Parishad Chairman in Dimla upazila.
“My name was not enlisted. That is why, I did not get any relief after visiting the relief distributing centre in the past three days,” said Nilu Akter, a resident Khalisa Chapani in Dimla upazila of the .
“There is only one tube-well left that has not been submerged. It is around two kilometres away from our residence. All the people of our village have to wade through waist-deep water to collect drinking water from there,” said Md Idris, a resident of Roumari upazia in Kurigram district.
Gaibandha’s Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Alamgir Kabir Saikat said around 600,000 people of Sundarganj, Sadar, Fulchhari, Shaghata and Gobindaganj upazilas of the district have been marooned.
As many as 98,000 people have taken shelter in 190 schools, colleges and madrasas which are being used as flood shelter centres, he said.
Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture Extension Dr Sarder M Ferdous said standing crops including T-Aman seed bed, Aus paddy, summer vegetables, and betel-leaf orchard of 14,021 hectares of land have been damaged due to the ongoing flood.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Abdul Matin said that 1,380 tonnes of rice, Tk21 lakh and 6,000 cartons of dry food received from Relief and Disaster Management Ministry has been distributed to the flood hit people of the district so far.
