Very little number of voters cast their votes in upazila polls on Sunday. Polls were held at 7 upazilas out of 8 in Jashore on the day. Hussain Sawkat, returning officer in charge of Jashore sadar, Jhikargachha, Chaugachha and Bagharpara upazilas told Newsmen that percentage of vote casing is comparatively low. Humayun Kabir, returning office, in charge of Abhaynagar, Monirampur and Keshabpur upazilas told Newsmen that around 15 per cent voters cast votes till noon.
Very little voters were seen at Shankar Government Primary School, Jashore Zila School, Sanmilany Institution, Adarsha Balika Bidyalaya, Government City College and many other polling station under Jashore sadar upazila, Mahakal Pilot School under Abhaynagar upazila and so many polling stations in Jashore. Only 35 votes out of the total 3,242 were cast at MN Khan Government Primary School toll 12:10pm. Tapan Kumar Roy, presiding officer of the centre told.
