Mizanul Haque Mizan, Chuadanga :Severe cold has paralysed normal life Chuadanga district and its adjoining areas. As a result poor people are crowding at shops of old clothes. A severe cold wave has been blowing over the district for the last few days. Poor people are the worst sufferers as most of them are with out warm clothes. The prices of warm clothes are beyond the purchasing capacity of most of the poor people. Rickshaw pullers and pushcart drivers are seldom seen on the roads before 9 am and after sunset. Shop owners are compelled to close their shops before sunset due to sever cold. In rural areas people are seen sitting around fire to shield themselves against betting cold. Patients at the local hospital are also suffering a lot as many of them have to spend their nights on the floor for want of adequate number of beds. The authorities of the hospitals can not rovide the patients with rags thus aggravating their sufferings. The people belonging to middle class are seen visiting old cloths shops but due to high prices some of then are coming back without purchasing any clothes. Large number of beggars are seen coming from different parts of the district are bagging warm clothes for their children. Most of their children are suffering from cold related diseases.
