The 11th parliamentary election will be held after five years and according to the Constitution, General Secretary Syed Ashraful Islam said on Wednesday.
He made the remark during his introductory speech at the meeting of party’s Central Working Committee.
Party President Sheikh Hasina, who had broached the notion of a mid-term national election, was in the chair.
Ashraf asked the Awami League leaders to stay alert as many ‘plots’ were being hatched even after the party came to power.
