President of Chittagong City Awami League and former Mayor ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury said politics should be exercised for well-being of the human life and establishment of rights of the deprived people and society.
He disclosed it while addressing the reminiscence meeting of Late Abdul Hakim Contractor, father of immediate past mayor Manzoor Alam and Iftar Party at latter’s residence in the city on Monday as Chief Guest. Mostafa Hakim Foundation organized the programmes at Bagan Bari residence of former Mayor’ residence in Kattali on former’s 19th death anniversary .Mohiuddin chowdhury in his brief deliberations said we are day by day forgetting the healthy politics rather doing politics to grab lands of others.
He also recalled the life of late Abdul Hakim contractor and said he was a true social and human personality as such a number of school, colleges, madrashas have been established here for the benefit of society and people.
He also cited example of good son like former Mayor Manzoor Alam who assigned the duties of Acting mayor for about 16 times and Mayor for 5 years term and during his tenure of Mayor , never adopts any irregularities and corruption .Among others former legislator and elderly AL leader Md. Ishaq Miah also spoke on the occasion.
Member parliament Didarul Alam, Principal of Mohisin college Fazlul Hoque, Chairman of Mostafa Hakim foundation MA Taher, Asstt. Police super Nesaruddin, Industrialist MS Alam, Principal of Mostafa Hakim University Md. Alamgir duly presided by Sultan Ahmed chairman also spoke in it.
