In our country, politics seems to have become a business with many politicians having got involved in corruption.
In India many prominent leaders have worked against corruption, regardless of the political identity of the people involved. There is a corruption investigation committee named Special Police Establishment. Similarly, we have an Anti-Corruption Commission, which is supposed to be independent, but its actions are sometimes eminently questionable.
Former Indian president Pratibha Patil once said, ‘corruption is the enemy of development, and of good governance. It must be got rid of. Both the government and the people at large must come together to achieve this national objective.’
