Monday last in the auditorium of the Institution of Engineers. Deputy Minister for Education Barrister Mahibul Hasan Chowdhury Nawfel said this while addressing a gathering on the occasion of Rezaul Karim Chowdhury’s assumption of office.
Nawfel said the Prime Minister has nominated the heroic freedom fighter as the mayor on the birth centenary of the father of the nation and the golden jubilee of independence.
Earlier, freedom fighter ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury was the mayor. Rezaul Karim Chowdhury has announced to work in coordination with everyone based on everyone’s opinion.
Mayor Rezaul Karim Chowdhury presided over the function while Nagar Awami League president Mahtab Uddin Chowdhury, MP Nazrul Islam Chowdhury, MP Moslem Uddin Ahmed, former vice chancellor of CU Dr. Anwarul Azim Arif, South District Awami League general secretary Mofizur Rahman, former mayor Mahmudul Islam Chowdhury, CDA chairman Zahirul Alam Dobhas, CUET vice chancellor.
