Politicians hail new budget as pro-people

Leaders of different political parties said the proposed budget for fiscal 2014-15 is time befitting and pro-people.
The new budget has been prepared with the aim of economic emancipation of common people, they observed.
Talking to BSS, some of the leaders, however, feared that full benefit could not be derived from the budget, if problems remain in implementation strategies.
Awami League Presidium Member and Health Minister Mohammad Nasim said this budget has been prepared for economic emancipation of the people.
The budget would help build a happy, prosperous and welfare-oriented country, he added.
Samyabadi Dal General Secretary Dilip Barua termed the budget as ‘positive’ and said it would help flourish an independent economy in Bangladesh.
The new budget has all components required for industrialization in the country, he opined.
Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) President Mujahidul Islam Selim and General Secretary Syed Abu Zafar Ahmed opposed keeping in the budget the scopes for legalizing black money. Ganotantri Party General Secretary Nurur Rahman Selim said implementation of the proposed budget is possible, if it is made corruption-free.
