Police are yet to find out any clue behind the kidnapping of the two brothers under the name of detective branch (DB) from the city’s Tolarbagh area on Thursday night.
The victims have been identified as Omar Farooq and Md Firoj, both are book traders in Nilkhet Market and son of Hakim Ali.
A general dairy (GD) was filed in this connection with the Darus Salam Police Station on Friday night, Zahanur Ali, Sub-Inspector (SI) of the police station told The New Nation on Sunday.
Quoting the family Members, the SI said that a gang of miscreants entered the victims’ residence at Tolarbagh in Mirpur Section-1 after introducing themselves as DB personnel and picked up them in that fateful night.
The victim’s family members contacted with the Rapid Action Battalion’s (RAB), the DB Headquarters and different other police stations the following day. As they could not get any information
from the RAB, DB and policed authorities over the incident, they filed a GD with the Darus Salam Police Station on Friday night.
Police are investigating the matter after filing of the GD with the police station, the SI said, adding they are trying to arrest the miscreants soon.
