Deputy Inspector General of Police, Chittagong Range Shafiqul Islam said police is ready to launch operation of Swat Team of CMP in Chitagong division to face the militants attacks . He disclosed it to the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in a video conference arranged at the conference hall of Deputy commissioner of Chittagong on July 13 duly presided by the Divisional Commissioner of Chittagong Md Ruhul Amin. DIG Shafiqul Islam said the drives of apprehending the militants is continued as per list and said police forces are ready to sacrifice their lives for the better interest of the country. In the conference, DIG said they are collecting the information’s of the missing youths from their family members, relatives. He also emphasized the move activeness of the community policing to apprehend the militants.
The conference was told that till now about 15 members of outlawed militant outfit JMB and ABT were rounded up in the meantime and very recently 4 ABT men apprehended from Sitakunda also.
The police boss also told that special security measures are being given to the foreign tourists visiting in Chittagong , cox’s bazar and hill tracts districts of Chittagong and all the hotel management have been asked to desiminate in formations to the nearest police stations as soon as the foreign tourists check in their hotels.
