Police will seek the Interpol’s help to arrest the prime accused of Narayanganj multiple murders Nur Hossain.The district police have sent a letter to the Police Headquarters suggesting this, Narayanganj police’s inspector (Special Branch) Mainur Rahman told bdnews24.com on Thursday.”Red alerts have been already sounded at the borders and in all ports,” he said.The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has been maintaining since the killings that Nur Hossain has fled to India.However, it’s not the first time that Hossain had been on the Interpol’s radar. A similar alert was issued against him a decade ago. He was reportedly in some foreign country at that time.Upon his return to Bangladesh, the police did not act on it as Nur Hossain had then established himself as a local leader of the ruling Awami League.Relatives of murdered councillor Nazrul Islam have alleged since the murders that it was Hossain, who paid the RAB Tk 60 million to carry out the killings.Police raided Hossain’s Siddhirganj residence almost a week after the bodies were recovered. According to media reports, another accused Haji Yasin Miah has also fled the country.Three ex-RAB officers have been arrested and being questioned following the murders, but the police is yet to arrest any of the accused.
