Staff Reporter: A group of Dhaka University students are continuing their demonstration for the second day on Wednesday demanding reschedule of Dhaka’s two city corporation polls as the scheduled day January 30 is to be observed Saraswati Puja of hindus.
The students were chanting slogans demanding the deferment of Dhaka north and south city corporation elections holding placards in front of the Raju Sculpture on the DU campus in the morning.
The protesters started a march towards the Election Commission office in Agargaon later, but police blocked them at Shahbagh intersection.
Then they blocked Shahbagh intersection demanding the reschedule of the polls.
Earlier on Tuesday, the students gave an 18-hour ultimatum to the authorities concerned and threatened to besiege the Election Office in Agargaon wednesday if their demand is not met.
