Police restrict traffic for celebrations

Traffic in the capital city will be discipolined while few roads will be temporarily closed on March 26 and 27 (Friday and Saturday) on the occasion of the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the golden jubilee of Bangladesh independence.
As such, the Traffic Division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police have
sincerely apologized for this temporary inconvenience. This message has been given through a press release signed by the official of Media and Public Relations Department, DMP.
Monibur Rahman, Additional Commissioner (traffic) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, told the media that they will control the traffic from 10:00am for the next day.
“It will not be possible to specify the movement time of VVIPs properly and there are also security issues related to it,” he added.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to arrive tomorrow to join the twin celebrations of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s and the golden jubilee of Bangladesh’s independence.
