Four robbers out of seven, lynched in mob attack in Narsigndi Sadar upazila, were identified and their bodies were sent to their respective relatives on Tuesday, police said.
The identified four robbers are-Haman Mollah, Mohammad Akter Hossain, Ainal Kabir and Mohammad Yeasin, Narsigndi Sadar Police Station’s officer-in-charge, KM Abul Kashem told The New Nation on Tuesday.
“We have handed over the identified bodies of four robbers to their respective relatives,” he said adding that the police forces continued to raid different suspected hideouts in the district and adjacent areas.
Earlier on Monday, seven suspected robbers were killed and another one was seriously injured in a mob attack at Bhatpara village in Sadar upazila when they were committing robbery at a house.
Replying to a query, the officer-in-charge said, based on information extracted from arrested robber Abdur Rahman, who is now undergoing treatment at Narsingdi General Hospital, police are raiding different places.
Talking to The New Nation Amena Begum, Superintendent of Police, Narsigndi said that they collected sample from bodies of three other robbers whose identity has not known yet for DNA test.
“A murder case and a robbery case were filed with the Narsingdi Sadar Police Station in this connection,” she said.
