Inspector General of Police (IGP) said, mentioning that the government has made various laws up-to-date through reforms to establish the constitutional and legal rights of the people, Benazir Ahmed said that the police members should take immediate action on the basis of information to provide legal aid to the people. Every member of the police must be sensitive to all service-seeking people, including women, children, the elderly and the disabled. Noting that the Corona epidemic has garnered praise from the police, he said the country needs to play an effective role in maintaining internal peace and order, controlling crime, curbing terrorism and curbing the spread of drug abuse. The professionalism and courage of Bangladesh Police in suppressing terrorism and militancy is appreciated today.
He was speaking as the chief guest at the concluding parade of the 36th Cadet SI Batch at Bangladesh Police Academy in Sarada, Rajshahi on Monday morning. Earlier, the IGP inspected the concluding parade of the 36th SI batch. A total of 1,231 SIs, including 57 newly recruited women, took part in the one-year training. The IGP handed over the crests to five of them who excelled in training. Principal of the Police Academy Khandaker Golam Farooq, high-ranking military and civilian officials working in Rajshahi division and district, guardians of the trainees and invited guests were present among others.
The IGP added that the ability to use modern technology to tackle crime and tactics is a milestone. Forensics, Digital Forensics, DNA Testing, IPDR Analysis, Cyber Crime, Financial Crime, Victim Support Center, Women and Children Desk, Bit Policing, National Emergency Services 999 and many more. In any case, the police have stood by the people even when they are out of duty. When relatives left the coronavirus patient, members of the police force stood by them. That is why the police force has become the love of the people today.
