Netrakona district police observed the Police Memorial Day recently commemorating the martyred members of police who made their supreme sacrifice during discharging their duties to protect the lives and properties of the people.
Netrakona district police chalked out an elaborate program marking the day.
The day’s program formally started in the mourning with placing of floral wreaths at the make-shift memorial monument at Netrakona police line ground by deputy commissioner Dr. Musfiqur Rahman and Police Super Netrakona Joydeb Chowdhory.
As a part of the program, a discussion meeting was held at the police line ground. Deputy commissioner Netrakona Dr. Musfiqur Rahman addressed the meeting as chief guest while police super Netrakona Joydeb Chowdhory presided over .
The meeting was addressed, among others, by chairman of Netrakona zila parishad Prasanta Kumar Ray, mayor of Netrakona Pourasava Nazrul Islam Khan, Chairman , Netrakona Sadar Upazila Parisahd Kamrul Hasan Shahin, Civil Surgeon Netrakona Dr. Tazul Islam, former commmander of District Muktizoddha Sangsad Nurul Amin and General Secretary , Netrakona Press club Shamolendu Paul.
The speakers paid glowing tributes to the memories of the martyred members of police and prayed seeking divine blessings for peace and salvation of their departed souls.
Later, the chief guest deputy commissioner Netrakona Dr Musfiqur Rahman and police super Netrakona Joydeb Chowdhory formally handed over honorary certificates, crests, and gift boxes to the family members of 15 martyred police officials.
